LIFETIME REPLACEMENT BRAKE PADS

Keeping your brakes in good condition is crucial to the safety of your vehicle and the safety of you and your passengers. With this in mind we have introduced a lifetime brake pad and shoe replacement scheme. We offer free brake pads and shoes for the
lifetime of your car after you've had your car's braking system checked and optimised. All we ask is that you repair or replace any other brake parts when necessary and tell us when you change your car:
All the brake parts we use match the original specification, and they are fitted by our skilled technicians. The lifetime replacement is designed to give you peace of mind for the life of your car and is only available from Servicesure Autocentres.

• You pay for your first replacement braking system e.g. pads, discs and shoes.
• We will supply and fit your next set of brake pads and shoes when you need them, free of charge.
• You do not need a yearly service or check to maintain your lifetime replacement, although we recommend that" you keep your car in good condition.

YOUR BRAKES ARE THE MOST SAFETY CRITICAL COMPONENTS ON YOUR CAR....SO HOW DO THE BRAKES ON YOUR CAR ACTUALLY WORK?

We all know that pressing down on the brake pedal slows your car down and stops it. But what is actually happening? How does your car transmit tbe force from your leg to its wheels? A typical car braking system is hydraulic. The brake pedal is linked to a master cylinder which connects through hydraulic pipes and hoses to the brake caliper & disc brakes at the front of your car and disc or drum brakes at the rear. The system is filled with brake fluid which provides the hydraulic action. This needs to be changed on a regular basis (vehicle manufactures recommend change between
18-30 months) as brake fluid is hydroscopic and so it absorbs water which·can seriously effects its performance,by lowering its boiling point. When you depress your brake pedal, your car transmits the force from your foot to\its brakes by hydraulically forcing the brake fluid through a series of pipes and hoses to the brake calipers or wheel cylinders at each wheel.

DISC BRAKES

A brake disc assembly consists of a Qisc, a caliper and two pads. When you press down on the brake pedal, brake fluid from the master cylinder is forced through the brake pipes into the brake caliper, which extends the piston or pistons, squeezing the two brake pads against the brake disc to which the wheel is attached. This forces the disc and therefore the car to slow down and stop.

DRUM BRAKES

With drum brakes, the brake fluid is forced into the wheel cylinder or cylinders, which then p􀂁shes the brake shoes out against the inside of the drum, which ea uses the Drum/wheel to slow down or stop.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS)

An Anti-Locking Brake system (ABS) prevents your road wheels from locking when braking l)ard or when the road surface is slippery or in poor condition. An ABS system controls the force deployed at each wheel to prevent your wheels locking. This provides even braking, improved control and the shortest stopping distance without the vehicle skidding.
